  What was the silliest thing they told you NOT to do?

  there was some really piddily-crap that i remember.. for instance, when i was about 17 toe-rings became popular, and one of the sisters bought one....wore it to the kh during the summer with her sandals.

  my best friend in the hall wanted one, which of course caused this huge debate about whether it would be okay 'in jehovah's eyes', and didn't it go against the scripture that counsels women against "bodily adornment", blah-blah-blah.

  Summer convention "warnings"

  anyone remember those kingdom ministry parts we had to attend a month before the summer convention about not saving seats and not eating during the program.

  even our behaivor in the hotel pool was admonished!

  and don't walk around the halls during the program, hold that boo-boo till intermission holmes!

  it is my first time telling my story and a little intimidating.

  when i was 8 my adoptive family became jw's.

  Five crew, I can sympathize with you, its so ironic isn't it? The same people that gave us funny looks and looked down on us when we brought our "out of wedlock" baby, were the same people that wanted to hold him at the hall... unbelievable isn't it?

  i'd never thought about this... but last night my father asked for my time.

  and i told him i didn't have any.

  he didn't seem to mind so he went ahead long his way.. .

  I like how you had to write on the back of your slip why you couldn't meet the hour requirement if you pioneered.. but you never had to write on there why you got more hours than you were required to.

  Apparently my wife did once for wearing a skirt that was 1/2 inch above her knee. I was told that I should speak to her because it could stumble others. Meanwhile, there were other sisters that wear mini skirts, but that was OK.

  The best was one of the parts before an assembly relating an experience that there were reports of someone that was going to be baptized with a towel in his hand that had the "Holiday Inn" logo on it and how we should never take things from a hotel where we were staying.
  
  I also remember my brother getting counseled because he stayed at the Sheraton Inn during convention time because it wasnt on the designated rooming list.

  What's The Most Traumatic Thing That's Ever Happened To You As A Witness?

  when you look back at your witness life, you probably can see that you were regularly exposed to traumatic conditions and situations because you were a jw.

  thinking back, was there anything that stood out in your mind that especially wounded you?

  What I clearly remember was the day I told my parents that my soon to be wife was pregnant. It was on a meeting nite. Where did my dad go? He went that night to the meeting to tell the elders what had happened! Instead of staying with the family during a time like that, he rushes to the meeting!! Those things always stay with you.

  a few years back i started reg.

  pioneering.

  a had a horrible start to the year with alot of stuff going wrong at work and was only able to preach some 40 hours in the first 4 months of the pioneering.

  Pretty much when you come off the "list", its as though you've sinned in the worst possible way. Instead of acknowledging your hard work and effort, you feel like you did the worst possible thing.

  it's so hard to choose, but i would have to say the theocratic ministry school was my most hated meeting.

  the first few talks were a rephrasing of mind-numbing society doctrine.

  then it was time to listen to a ten-year old read nwt to us........... #3 talks, don't even get me started!

  im new to the website and farely new to the idea of leaving the jw's.

  for a long time i've had doubts, questions that dont have an answer.

  i was an ms and reg pioneer for about 5 years.
